Welcome to Iuka Middle School! 

I am Chrystal Smith, Principal here at Iuka Middle School. I am honored to serve the students, families, staff, and community in Iuka.

We hope that visits to our school website will provide useful information concerning news and announcements, calendar of events, and school spotlights. Our school mission statement, staff directory, and how to contact us are also available. We feel that good communication between the school and families is key to our students’ success. Iuka Middle School has a long tradition of excellence. We are committed to individual student success by utilizing evidence-based instruction, emphasizing rigor in the classroom, and creating real world connections to students' learning. We believe academic excellence and growth occur best while educating the whole student through relationships built in our House System. Students learn to embody the characteristics of our eight houses: Credo (perseverance), Integrita (intergrity), Makiramay (empathy), Meraki (creativity), Mkali (positivity), Synergi (teamwork), Teenima (generosity), and Uongozi (leadership). Students are sorted into one of the eight houses as fifth graders. We celebrate one house per month, working together on service projects and learning about that house's characteristic. This unites our school all while we are simultaneously engaged in friendly competition: The houses compete all year long, students earning house points, and the whole school celebrates the winning house at the end of the year.
